How do dermal fillers work?
As your skin ages, it loses the collagen that helps to shape and support it.
Natural lines and wrinkles deepen. Sun exposure, smoking, air pollution, and even stress can all age your appearance. Furthermore, the face can also begin to lose volume, giving sunken cheeks and a ‘dragged down’ appearance.
Dermal fillers can be used as a non-surgical facelift. A specifically formulated filler is injected into the mid-face to augment and lift the cheeks.
This gives the face a fuller appearance, lifting jowls and correcting sagging in the cheeks and lower face.
Do dermal filler injections hurt?
As with many treatments nowadays, dermal fillers are relatively painless.
Many contain an anaesthetic within the product itself, or we can apply a topical anaesthetic to your skin before the treatment.
What are the side effects?
Some mild swelling, bruising or redness in injection sites is normal. However, if you have any concerns you must call your practitioner.
How long will the effects last?
The effects usually last between 6 months and 18 months, depending on the area treated. We will discuss the effects in more detail during your initial consultation with the practitioner.

How does anti-wrinkle treatment work?
The treatment involves injecting under the skin. This paralyses (relaxes or ‘freezes’) certain facial muscles to give a smoother, more youthful appearance to the skin.
Is anti-wrinkle treatment safe?
As with any injectable procedure, wrinkle-smoothing injections should only be practiced in a sterile environment by a fully qualified medical professional.
It is important not to be tempted to take cheap, ‘quick fix’ injections by unqualified practitioners, however accessible or seemingly reasonable the price.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes around 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how many injection sites are needed.
Your practitioner will allow around 15 to 20 minutes for the appointment.
